During the photographer's vetting process, we often get asked, what gear/camera do you
use? Honestly, I still do not have a straight-forward answer to this question as most of the
time it depends on the job-scope, creative brief and output required. While we possess a lot
of expensive and high-end gears that can be deployed for a shoot. It is simply impractical and
cost inefficient to do so when the job does not required it to be.
Our rule of thumb, we emphasise a lot on having the right technical lens during a shoot and a
minimum full frame sensor size. This allow us to have the flexibility to craft most of our shoot
efficiently right on the set itself instead of relying on post editing. Medium format cameras are
nice to have if clients do have a higher budget and higher demand in image quality.
Having a geared support base is also important for us to make precise adjustments during our
shoot. And last but not least a couple of strobe lightings for us to craft our set lighting.
